Welcome to the AU Workshop! We understand adapting a character for an AU game can be a difficult process, even if you have all the creativity in the world, so we've put this together to help! Just fill out the form and post it in a comment below, and sort of brain out which ideas stick!

Keep in mind this is not a reserve. Reserves will open on the 3rd, as always, and you don't need to use this if you're already sure of your ideas! This is just a fun creative exercise that we hope you enjoy and find helpful!

BLURB: Yanli is a closeted meta-human and corporate wife who covertly uses her abilities to give her human husband advantages in business and protect him from enemies that would do him harm. She's also the chief operating officer and second-in-command of his corporation, in charge of running day-to-day administrations and mentoring newer company members.

She grew up in the Central Ward of New Gate City, the daughter of wealthy, successful corporate heads and had two younger brothers, one of whom was adopted. Her parents had an unhappy marriage so she grew up in a household that was frequently colored by conflict and in which she had to become a surrogate mother for her younger siblings. She also learned to mediate and navigate the world of the wealthy elite of New Gate City from an early.

Her meta power of Telempathy first manifested when she was about 12 or 13 and has been hiding it from everyone ever since. As a result, she's never received formal training in how to use her gift and more of less trained herself in how to control it through various meditation techniques. Her readings are strongests when she's physically touching someone so for this reason, she rarely has physical contact with people unless they're extremely close.

She lost her parents to a horrific act of violence her first year of college where she studied business, leaving her and her younger brother to run the family corporation on their own. She met her husband during this time and after a long-term relationship they married. Once she was married, she left management of her family's corporation

Personality wise, Yanli is pretty quiet and modest, coming across as kind of a wallflower with few distinguishable traits. A lot of this is a deliberate cover to keep her from standing out and attracting too much notice. At heart, she's very sweet-natured, kind, and soft-spoken but when her loved ones are threatened, harmed, or insulted, she reveals a ruthless, cunning, and manipulative side she won't hesitate to put to immediate use to protect her loved ones. She understands the value of status, connections, and has a talent for politics so for this reason, she maintains a wide web of associates and contacts who owe her favors that she saves to cash in on when she needs it. Basically, she is the poster child for the Good Is Not Dumb trope. She can be very strong-willed and determined in pursuit of her goals.

She's also very devoted to her husband and her brothers. Fiercely protective, too. As gentle as she is, she will eliminate threats to their welfare any way that she can, even if it requires picking up a gun herself to do it. If anyone had met her mother, they would understand.

Hobbies? She likes to cook and she's very good at it. I also see her being involved in philanthropy and charity work when she can find the time to go to events. She also probably makes anonymous donations to the NSO and makes occasional trips to the Last Ward under bodyguard to help out the metahumans struggling there when she can.

LOOKING FOR: Business associates? Enemies? Employees? Fellow socialites? Contacts? Meta contacts she's helped out in the Last Ward? I'd really like bodyguards for her because Yanli's ability isn't offense oriented, she has no ability to defend herself, and she'll stubbornly insist on heading into dangerous parts of the city despite all of this. A meta who's able to pass off as human would be ideal since she'd likely hire them as her personal bodyguard in other parts of the city as well.

OPTIONAL ENABLE ME: Same player as the Wei Wuxian pitch on this post! I had a second idea pop in my head that I wanted to put some feelers out for. If I go with her instead, her canon husband, Jin Zixuan, would be apping in with her to be her husband in game.

I have nothing positive to contribute other than having a character I absolutely want to see interact with Cirno in some capacity.

Although I guess most of the jokes I want to make don't work quite so much now that Weiss has finally won a solo fight in canon.

AU NAME: Same name, AKA "Raphaël Ambrosius Costeau."
AU AGE: Same as his canon age, 44.

BLURB: This guy is a metahuman who was experimented on - he nearly shattered his mind with all the drinking he did, and he still suffers from near-constant intrusive thoughts as a consequence of his abilities, but now as a private detective working closely with the Neo Sapien Org, with a new alias, he solves mysteries and fights The Man with his metahuman powers.

What are his metahuman powers, you ask? Well, there are 24 facets of his personality that all chime in with something to say. Most of these are just things he would have noticed anyway, but he has some genuine extrasensory perception lodged in there from what he privately calls his Inland Empire, his Shivers, and his Espirit D'Corps - hallucinations of the Dead speaking (which are bizarrely if metaphorically accurate), a preturnatural sense of what the city wants, and a subtelepathic link to the NSO, respectively.

When not detecting, he goes to the Arcadia district and dances to disco in his god-awful flare cut trousers, snakeskin boots, satin shirt, disco-ass blazer and his good friend the hideous tie.

LOOKING FOR: Man oh man does this guy need an ex-wife or an ex-fiancee to cry about/have completely drowned all memories of at the bottom of a bottle.

I also welcome clients for his private detection that aren't the NSO, slimy mafiosos and corporate scum for him to resent working with, fellow communard agitators, and disco-ass motherfuckers for him to dance with on the weekends.

Did someone mention parties? "Raphael" here loves to dance. Disco, but they can't all be winners.

He's also not opposed to doing violence in the name of a good cause, but is more likely to do the detective work while needing muscle to back him up. Muscle like Ryoko!

Ryoko has negative taste so she doesn't mind disco at all. And he'll certainly be more competent than the last detective she worked with.

i imagine, given jotako's reputation in the world of biology, he's tried to get her to do guest lectures at his school to no avail.

as far as powers go, i like the idea of basically having a meta power focused on rhythm, since he uses music as a focus. that so long a he maintains certain rhythms, he can enhance his target's physiology (which would lead to both healing and mental acuity increasing)
