Ah! My preference is for traditional styles too! It's not that I don't like modern art - a lot of it is conceptually very interesting - but I can't help but be drawn to the sort of art that's just, well... pretty. These days, though, pretty paintings of landscapes and flowers and birds are dismissed as the sort of tasteless trash you hang on the wall of a guest bathroom while the art world goes wild over some rusty scraps of metal and concrete, so I'm left wondering if it's all a big joke and no one bothered to tell me the punchline...
