Welcome to the AU Workshop! We understand adapting a character for an AU game can be a difficult process, even if you have all the creativity in the world, so we've put this together to help! Just fill out the form and post it in a comment below, and sort of brain out which ideas stick!

Keep in mind this is not a reserve. Reserves will open on the 3rd, as always, and you don't need to use this if you're already sure of your ideas! This is just a fun creative exercise that we hope you enjoy and find helpful!

BLURB: Son to the leader of Seven Tower, which is your typical Scientology-eque cult. Seven Tower believes in the spiritual elevation of humanity, meta- or not. Or that's the cover story, anyway. Some celebrities espouse it, others think it's really fucking weird. They're right. Within it is an increasingly crazy pyramid of actual eldritch cult beliefs, culminating in the order's founder Hennon. Hennon is a meta-human born with a distinctively malformed arm and some tentacle-related abilities, and he made it his life's goal to summon a chthonian deity.

Of course, any cult needs a respectable cover operation and a way to ensure their members' loyalty. On the surface they seem to do community service and donate to charity, making them seem like a weird but still legal organization. But the higher ranks of the order are bound to its founder via metahuman-mediated mind control. Hennon had his henchmen abduct a child from its meta-human parents and raise the child as his own, as the child showed potential to carry the same dark powers as he did. Ain grew up believing Hennon was his father, and Hennon used Ain's mind-control ability to solidify his hold on the inner circle. While he was content to obey his father and conduct spooky rituals for him, he eventually progressed to the rebellious teenage phase and began leaving the cult headquarters for his own adventures. He is able to make people (read as: NPCs only, no PCs unless with permission) forget about him, letting him explore without much consequence. He's a wildcard to both Seven Tower and the city at large, seeking out things that amuse him and slipping into the shadows away from things that do not.

Note: I'm not interested in making him forcibly mind-control PCs. He does not induct people into Seven Tower if they do not wish to join.

LOOKING FOR:
- People who think he's a run-of-the-mill metahuman living on the streets
- People of his age who don't mind hanging out with an edgy young man
- People who are willing to trade with Seven Tower and sell them shady shit
- Anyone wants to join the cult...? Haha just kidding... unless?

HMMMMMMMMMMM I'm gonna say Add caught him pulling the ol tentacle mindtrick on someone and that is how they met. Maybe Seven Tower had some connections to whatever disbanded company was funding/murdering Add's family and that's how he figures out Add's identity? Hooray for mutual blackmail woo

and maybe they also like the same kpop bands or something, this is how friendship works right? blackmail and kpop?

quick disclaimer that i don't know if i'm gonna app this round, BUT i'm keeping my eye on this game!

BLURB:
» i'm considering either that he's a regular human, or he thinks he is but he has some latent power that he has no idea is actually a power (like, lie detection for example)
» he has a job working for a private marshal-type firm, as in they specialise in finding fugitives and are available to be hired out. this is about as righteous/heroic as raylan can get in a world like this, but the company he works for is definitely far from squeaky clean.
» his family is quite notorious for being petty criminals and constantly getting in trouble with the law, so to see raylan working for the 'other side' is still a surprise to people in the know.
» he's been out of the city for a while now working on cases as far away from his family as possible, and when he came back it wasn't out of his own free will. he gave a notorious human trafficker, tommy bucks, 24 hours to get out of town, and when those 24 hours were up and bucks was still here, raylan shot and killed him. the move back to the city is definitely considered a demotion by his superiors.
» now that he's back in the city, he's specifically being tasked with liaising with the NSO and looking for meta-humans who've either plain gone missing or are deliberately avoiding the law for whatever reason (i.e. vigilantes etc.)

» people that raylan has hunted down – bearing in mind this is a private company and not an actual branch of law enforcement, it stands to reason that not everyone he finds is a fugitive and not every fugitive is going to be handed over to actual law enforcement, so go wild with that!
» people that raylan is in the process of finding!
» people who know raylan's family or raylan himself, maybe even just through notoriety
» people who knew tommy bucks, whether they'd been trafficked by him or they worked for him or WHATEVER

Lapis here could always use a friend even if she's distrustful and slow to let people in. On the bright side, she won't have a grudge against Rose.

A neighbor is perfectly lovely and a tour guide would be what she honestly needs. Her life has been heavily restricted from those nasty outside influences. Like people who don't answer to her mother. If she found out Yang misses plant life and a little green, she would be more than willing to spruce up her apartment. Once she figured out Yang is not going to turn her in or something.

that would probably become obvious pretty quickly! Yang doesn't talk a heck of a whole lot about her background, but when plants are involved she'd inevitably talk about how much she missed the farming community she grew up in, and the whole being kicked out by the community at large even though her mother didn't mind having her around after her own powers manifested. :B

They would be pretty impossible to make work out, given I'm playing her from the beginning of her story and you are playing Zagreus from closer to the end. If I decide to play Perse, I'd love to have them run into each other at some point and I wish I could figure out a way to have some sort of standing relationship but aside from an older sister/aunt/whatever she was named for, I can't really.

If I play her, I'm honestly leaning towards the older version of Rose, as a more got her things together sort of character. Not like really all that together bc Rose. But more than fresh out of Central Ward Rose. A peer, someone who is a little worried about the things she's a bit more brash about is wonderful. She'd even want to coax him out a little. Not a lot. But a little.

Give her sidewalk flowers, she'd be charmed.

A bright side at last! Rose lacks some of Steven's empathy but makes up for with a heap of enthusiasm and a wonder for her fellow meta humans and a whole lot of trying and learning. Rose won't be upset that she's distrustful but she's that 'here if you need me!' and always willing to heal a bruise or broken leg or whatever is needed if lapis runs into trouble.

Or at least the biggest potted one because she has a tendency to forget they need pots at some point. She'll never her deposit back

Hey! This is an offer to thread out samples for you folks’ upcoming apps, or just if my character type is something you wanna play against. I’m still thinking about whether to app or not, and probably won’t this round also I’m still scared of playing OCs and this one is stupid levels of gimmicky so that’s extra embarrassing. I just want to play a robot. Do you want to play against a robot?

AU AGE: Looks in her mid-20s. Physically, ~3 years old, which is actually robot adulthood for her model.

BLURB: Imagine an android that passes the Turing test..... but fails CAPTCHAs. That’s the gist of it.

Now imagine this: You walk in to the lobby of your swanky megacorp. The android receptionist is very happy to talk to you even though she doesn't get the point of “casual conversation”- but the nice employee (you) wants to do it, so why not! So she’s datamined all your weird human interests from Neo Sapien Twitter as reference material. The receptionist offers to get you your usual coffee order from Zaibatsubucks, walks out of the office and gets hit by a car because administrative AIs are not built to recognise cars.

Like I said, she fails CAPTCHAs.
061 is a somewhat outdated service model, and works secretarial / reception / some kind of admin in an unconfirmed institution. She can’t shoot guns or do parkour like the sleek new tech, but because she’s old she’s had the time to compile a respectable library of human social constructs. So she can send you “memes” if you're into that. She has broad network access so she has a lurking presence on the interwebs, but she's usually just happy filing taxes or something. It's a simple existence, but who needs rights when you have housing security :)

We can figure out an organisation that works best for your character so they have a reason for contacting each other, I've got nothing confirmed. She’s tentatively working for Ain’s cult? idk.

LOOKING FOR: I mean. I’m not apping her immediately (if at all) so this is just ... hypothesis :v
