Welcome to the AU Workshop! We understand adapting a character for an AU game can be a difficult process, even if you have all the creativity in the world, so we've put this together to help! Just fill out the form and post it in a comment below, and sort of brain out which ideas stick!

Keep in mind this is not a reserve. Reserves will open on the 3rd, as always, and you don't need to use this if you're already sure of your ideas! This is just a fun creative exercise that we hope you enjoy and find helpful!

Lol no worries! I was trying to figure out a lot of the same with how I would throw John into yours. But really I think we already have a good premise going here where we can probably have them plan a personal first time meet up in the arcade center. It would be fun to get those mad competitive gaming skillz going on between them too also I think it would be hilarious for him to realize how she's a chunk older than him from his perspective.

i'm into it!! they haven't lived in the Last Ward proper since they joined up with the NSO, but they're almost definitely the kind of person who would head back down there and just, like, keep an eye on things. plus electrokinetics gotta stay together, that's called electromagnetism

But yes, absolutely!! I’d love for her to have someone who she can bounce ideas off of and vice versa. It’d be a nice way to for her to learn more stuff, since there’s only so much one can pull from Frankenstein-ing bits together. Only if Jinx can nickname her hotshot tho. It’s a must.

Yang definitely has a good mix of practical experience and technical study to help out, and sometimes it's nice to hang out with someone who doesn't think a giant flaming rocket fist is "impractical" or "a waste of potential" or "dangerous"

Yang's whole power set fizzles when she gets way too angry and sometimes a girl just wants to make things go boom when they can't hurt anyone y'know

Hell yeah!! Don’t worry, though, she’s sure to let Yang in on the most important thing to remember: all those words are just synonymous with “fun”.

CANON: Girls Frontline

AU NAME: N/A, but with added code name: "Snow Wolf" and at least one back-up name of "Kalashnikov"
AU AGE: Physical age of early 20s? Maybe? Still working on that.

BLURB: Her canon self is a state-of-the art Tactical Doll (T-Doll for short) that was built specifically for military operations. Currently a part of Task Force DEFY, which at the most base level, is a behind-the-scenes mercenary group looking to prevent the Big Bad Guys from winning. While they're defined as androids, T-Dolls more closely resemble walking computers that look like cute girls. Most of them can't even do much on their own without orders from a Commander. Thankfully, AK-12 is a Special Butterfly and is one of the few that can act independently and autonomously. And why not throw in some electronic warfare and hacking prowess in there, too.

"Why are her eyes always closed?" Because reasons.

For this AU, much of that will still be the same. She'll be a state-of-the-art AI working with a Pro-Meta mercenary group that frequently (and unofficially) supports the NSO.


LOOKING FOR: Bring me her girlfriend, AN-94.

Teammates would be nice. Just be warned that AK-12 is the self-confident and arrogant type. So if you can't keep up with her, she'll likely just leave you behind and not even think about it. She's also a troll and has a pretty short attention span towards most things. Aside from that, I'm down to bounce ideas for just about anything.

I'm still trying to define the exact scope of her "orders" while stationed at New Gate City, or if she'd report to someone in-game. Hindering Douman Zaibatsu is a given, but I'm still on the fence on how much support she would give to NSO especially if she's supposed to be a behind-the-scenes soldier.

And you know, there's also the whole "being created to serve and take orders from humans" that will undeniably pop up.

AU NAME: Rakan Bianchi
AU AGE: 30

BLURB: Rakan comes from a small community that consisted almost solely of Metahumans. They grifted in the undercity, but cared for their own, until several years ago when they were implicated in a Yakashbah plot. Those who weren't killed or arrested scattered, and he was separated from his loved ones. He spent years living on what he could make begging (or stealing), but was eventually scooped by the NSO and now performs for various nightclubs. He's an especially exotic meta, with both bird and lynx features expressed in his phenotype. He's not got much in the way of cyberware, but his tendency to throw himself headlong into danger in the defense of any metahuman may change that. His gift is enhanced defense and healing, which he can transfer to others for a limited time but loses when he does so.

LOOKING FOR: Feedback and CR! Go nuts. I'm working with a difficult angle. Any members of his former commune, friends, and enemies are welcome.

All joking aside, it would be kinda interesting to let him go full-on evil with his ability to eat people lives happening. Might even make things a bit interesting if he was around mucking things up because of course he would. Especially once he realizes his brother is out there, being nice.

AU NAME: Ye Zun aka Gui Mian
AU AGE: 32

BLURB: Once an elite guard for a member of a Chinese businessman with secret dealings into meta-human slavery, he dropped off the radar when the family turned up dead when the organization they had been doing business with took offense to their double dealings. It was assumed by law enforcement officials that he had been one of the many staff members paid off and then subsequently silenced by the criminals. While there were reports that he might have survived, there are no real leads into his whereabouts given that no one knows what he looks like under his masks.

A meta-human orphan, he possess the ability to steal life in order to boost his own. It made him sickly as a child, thus easy prey when human traffickers kidnapped him. He was sold into slavery to work for one of the key people in the chain for trafficking, where he learned how to kill. He also learned a lot of other things so when the black market moved to get rid of the businessman, Ye Zun moved first, taking out the entire family, grabbing as much wealth he could, and vanished into the underworld. He made his way to New Gate City where he claims he is there to help the Yakashbah, but what he really wants is to find his twin. And "thank" him.

LOOKING FOR: Fellow criminals. People that may have heard of this weird masked guy and his rather interesting dramatics. People willing to work for him because of reasons. People trying to catch this guy because let's face it, he's a bit scary.

(this is true! I think I may be going with Antryg/Andrei, but Shen Wei can remain an option for the future... regardless, Ye Zun would make an amazing metahuman supremacist villain.)

Oh man, imagine him getting his claws into a ready-made metahuman supremacist terrorist organization. Although it'd probably not help the Yakashbah win any hearts and minds to have Ye Zun hanging out with them.

He would look at them and go 'oh you sweet children lemme show you some things.' I did toss up a plotting thing for him cobbling together a thing including his mask problem.

Honestly I'd love for these two to be ex's, or at least have had a messy couple of months, if that isn't too big an ask for a rando? I need to write up a blurb post but Fujino's blind and suffers from sporadic pain due to complications relating to how her own powers awakened, and she was basically disowned by her family, so she could definitely relate to Yang having had a rough initial go of it.

And she's got a calm and even personality, but she's very clingy and intense, so them seemingly balancing each other out at first but quickly realizing it was getting way too heavy for them is pretty interesting, I think? And they'd probably have had some disagreements about politics, since Fujino's pretty jaded on Meta-humans as a whole being any better than the Zaibatsu - she's the type who just wants to get by with the hand she's been dealt. I'm playing her as about twenty-twoish, so her being a bit younger than Yang could be interesting, too?

If that all sounds good, I'd love to tag you on the TDM and see if they click with that kind of assumed CR.

Would he like a largely ineffectual nemesis? Andrei has some major concerns about violent meta-human supremacists thanks to his upbringing and would definitely be trying to mitigate the collateral damage from Ye Zun's plans... although he doesn't have much in the way of power or influence, so he's more likely to wind up in trouble than effectively thwart.

In canon Ye Zun is a supervillian who basically wants to eat the entire world and remake it to his ideal world, in this AU he would start small and work his way up. It does help that the more lives he absorbs, the stronger he gets so he may be a good source of reluctant buddies :3

So long as his brother is saved for him, he doesn't care what happens to the rest. Unless it's one of his minions those he is slightly possessive of as well.
